The Barón de Villacampa™ Wine collection is a fine example of the three most popular styles of red wines in the Rioja wine region of Spain. A great wine is created in the vineyard, not in the cellar.
Our Tempranillo is a young, fruity and ready and easy to drink red wine without barrel ageing. It is best if drunk within two years of the release date. The Harvest in Rioja varies but generally mid September to early October depending on the plot of land and all other climatic influences during the year. The release of our Tempranillo is usually around the first of the following year.
Our Crianza wine has been aged in American and French oak barrels for a minimum of 12 months and then undergoes a refinement period of a few months in the bottle. Crianza is a wine in at least its third year. It is best if drunk within 6-7 years of its release date.
Our Reserva wine has been aged in American and French oak barrels for a minimum of 24 months and then undergoes a refinement period of no less than 12 months in the bottle. Reserva takes a minimum of three years to create. It is best if drunk within 10 years of its release date.
